So long 2016, it is (almost) time to bid adieu. With 2017 a few short days away, we can begin speculating about all the cool tech we hope will be arriving in the new year. First on our list is Google.

This was a different year for Google as it fully embraced an identity as a hardware manufacturer. In the past, it ran away from making its own hardware like it was the plague, but its change of heart in 2016 means there are a lot of possibilities in 2017 than just a mere update to Android. With an impressive introduction of hardware this year, I’m excited for what’s to come in 2017.

2016 saw Google jump into the smartphone and smarthome market with the Pixel and Google Home. It beefed up its smarthome products with its first router: Google Wifi. It even introduced its form of AI with the Google Assistant, the backbone of the Pixel and Home. So, what can we expect from the search giant in 2017?

The Pixel 2.0? Or Google Home 2.0 with an improved Assistance? Or possibly something crazy like a full-fledged jump into the autonomous car business. Who knows, I’m just spitballing. These are just my random predictions for Google next year.

Jon took his best guesses in the video above. Is he clairvoyant if his guesses come true? Only time will tell, but until then, enjoy Jon’s short-lived career as a psychic.
